Where possible, I try to provide the best competitive rate for my clients. I'm willing to discuss cost and budget openly, and we'll mutually agree on a price for all projects before any work begins.

 

I provide a free sample edit as standard before working with a new client. This enables you to get a feel for my editing style and allows me to estimate a more accurate timescale for completion.

A 25% booking deposit is required for all work, and I schedule payments in installments (i.e. while I don't offer traditional payment plans, payment is typically split across the duration of each project, so you do not need to pay the full amount upfront). Please note that your booking deposit is non-refundable if you decide to cancel, but I will work with you to reschedule if necessary.

 

As part of my mission to offer a professional book editing service to authors on all routes to publication, my listed fees fall below the industry standard rates as set out by the Editorial Freelancers Association, while also reflecting my 10+ years' experience in the industry and my professional editorial training. This is not a hobby—it is my full-time job, and I'm committed to providing a valuable, attentive, skilled editorial service to the authors I work with, prioritizing quality over quantity, and preserving your unique voice while polishing your manuscript to meet UK and/or US publishing industry expectations.
