AFFORDABLE BOOK EDITING
Proofreading is the final step in preparing a manuscript for publication. I will read through your work with absolute scrutiny, to check for any hard-to-see errors such as spelling mistakes, missing or misplaced punctuation, inconsistencies, or any other fault you wouldn't want to see in a published book.
Due to the nature of the job (i.e. proofreading is concerned with the finer details rather than the concept, structure, or plot), I can proofread all genres—fiction and non-fiction.

Copy editing is the best choice if you would like me to read through your manuscript and leave my comments and (constructive, not catty) criticisms in-line, while also paying close attention to your style, tone, and voice. I will catch and fix any inconsistencies or spelling/grammatical errors along the way.
You can expect to receive a clean manuscript with all comments/insertions/deletions made in-line. I can also create style guides, or work to any pre-written style guides you might have.

(A.K.A. HEAVY COPY EDITING)
Based on an initial assessment of your manuscript (during the sample edit stage), line editing may be recommended instead of copy editing. This is often the case when more in-depth editing is required to address awkward phrasing, clumsy sentence structure, major inconsistencies, unintentional tense switches, and difficulty maintaining voice, etc. Due to the extra time and attention this service requires, it carries a separate fee.
£0.018 GBP / $0.025 USD per word
Developmental (substantive) editing is the first, most thorough stage of the editing process. I will read your manuscript in full and then give you a detailed analysis of every element: style, plot, characterization, theme, tone, etc. I will provide all of this in a personal editorial letter, with detailed in-line comments so you can see exactly which parts of your novel need to shift or change.
After you have taken some time to read through my notes and revise your manuscript, I'll schedule you in for a second read-through ('second pass') and provide my detailed thoughts on the changes you've made. You can expect my in-line comments/insertions/deletions on both the first and second read-through.

QUERY LETTER/SYNOPSIS EDITING
Think of your query letter or book synopsis like a written job interview and it's easy to see why it should be polished and professional.
I am experienced at writing (successful) query letters and book synopses. My editorial training, meticulous attention to detail, and real-life contact with literary agents will all come into play when I'm working on your query letter and synopsis.
Whether you're hoping to submit for representation or pitch for publication, I can help you to craft the sort of introduction that will get read, not tossed aside.
Please contact for more info
I can read your full manuscript (or part of it) and offer my advice and thoughts as in-line comments that will cover all the main elements such as style, plot, characterization, worldbuilding, theme, tone, etc., to guide your revisions and redrafts.
This service does not involve any level of editing and I will not alter your manuscript in any way. For my developmental editing service, please see above.
